Fading Glow

We’re green dots spread across a starry night,
we’re a blue sweater and a grey shirt together
like threads woven
by a shimmer of moonlight
where we live the crazy life
and wear lipstick without meaning
and sing a divine comedy,
eat only the orange smarties
and dance around in purple.
We’re the train whistling,
steaming,
remembering
where we always came from.
We’re the waking cold
and the fireworks on the ground.
We swim in a blue lagoon
but never have sex on the beach.
We listen to a lonely violin
and a lonely guitar in a wheelchair
heartbroken because we’re falling down cliffs
and never said three simple words.
